Transparent & Project-Specific

Flexible Branding & Manufacturing MOQ Guide

Understand the casting-batch economics that govern vise production runs — and how our low-barrier co-branding program works for distributors, industrial suppliers and growing tool brands. Engineered and operated by Stavalk, Qingdao, China.

Straight answer

MOQ is not a one-size-fits-all number. Every MOQ is confirmed by project configuration: jaw width and opening, body series (light, medium, heavy, pipe or specialty), swivel base type, surface finish, branding and packaging requirements. Standard volume production runs 50–200 units per batch from a single casting cycle; heavy-duty and specialty series run 20–50 units; and every project is split into three distinct stages — sample development (1–2 units), pilot order (20–50 units) and volume production (50–200+ units). We confirm the exact calculation for your SKU mix before quotation — no vague "low MOQ" promises, no hidden compromises.

The Engineering Logic

Why Standard Volume MOQ Is 50–200 Units: Casting-Batch Economics

Production run sizes are not arbitrary numbers set by a sales team — they are determined by sand-casting mould cavities, heat-treatment batch sizes and line changeover physics.

The casting-cavity baseline. Bench vise bodies are sand-cast from HT200 or HT250 gray cast iron. A standard foundry flask accommodates a single casting cycle that yields 4 to 8 vise bodies depending on jaw width. The minimum efficient casting batch is one complete flask load.

The yield calculation (50 to 200 units). For a standard medium-duty vise (6″–8″ jaw width), one casting cycle with multi-cavity tooling yields approximately 50 to 200 finished vises when multiple cavities are used across a single pour. Heavier 8″–10″ units yield fewer per flask; lighter 2″–5″ units yield more.

Heat-treatment batch optimization. All vise bodies undergo heat treatment to achieve the required hardness. Furnace loading is most efficient at batch sizes that fill the hearth — under-filled furnaces waste energy, over-filled loads risk uneven treatment. Standard batch sizes are tuned to the furnace capacity.

Zero-waste casting policy. Full flask loads ensure consistent molten iron temperature, uniform mold filling and repeatable microstructure across every body in the batch — no partial pours that create inconsistent hardness zones.

Two Routes to Your Brand

Full-Custom Volume OEM vs Small-Batch Co-Branding

One factory, two entry points: full-custom mass production for established lines, and a low-barrier co-branding program for distributors, industrial suppliers and growing tool brands.

Transparent Branding Fees

Co-Branding Fee Structure — Itemized Upfront

Clear, itemized pricing for small-batch branding. Casting mould fees are charged once on initial setup and waived for re-orders using the same artwork dimensions.

Sample · Pilot · Volume

Three Distinct Quantity Stages

Sample, pilot and volume production quantities are different. Every project is categorized into three distinct tiers so you validate before you commit.

  1. 01

    Sample Development (1–2 units)

Physical confirmation of jaw hardness (58–62 HRC), clamping force, swivel torque, surface finish and accessory fitment before any financial commitment. Sample fees apply and are credited toward your production order upon contract sign-off.

  2. 02

    Pilot Order (20–50 units)

Commercial testing and regional market validation using existing series platforms, stock materials and standard packaging to minimize setup friction.

  3. 03

    Volume Production (50–200+ units)

Confirmed after frozen BOM, finalized branding, custom packaging and scheduled delivery plans — full casting cycles, custom paint systems, bespoke packaging, volume discounts and full-chain batch traceability.

What Drives Your MOQ

Why Full-Custom MOQ Is Always Project-Specific

For 100% bespoke manufacturing, MOQ is calculated from the complete product architecture — these four components are evaluated together before quotation.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About MOQ

Is MOQ calculated per order, per model, or per variant?+

MOQ may apply per model, variant, body series, branding configuration or total order. Because different jaw widths (4″ vs 10″) and body castings come from distinct casting moulds and heat-treatment batches, ordering 50 vises split across 5 series creates 5 separate production requirements. We confirm the exact calculation against your SKU matrix before quotation so you can plan your mix clearly.

Yes. Sample development (1–2 units) verifies jaw hardness, clamping force, swivel torque, surface finish and fitment before mass production release. Sample fees apply and are credited toward your production order upon contract sign-off.

Custom flexographic or offset carton printing presses require a minimum production setup of 500+ units. We offer a Hybrid Packaging Storage Solution: we produce the 500 custom-printed cartons, store the surplus in our clean warehouse, and release them across your scheduled shipments — so a smaller vise order can still ship in fully branded retail packaging.

Standard volume MOQ follows the casting process: a single flask load in our foundry yields 50–200 vise bodies depending on jaw width and cavity count. Running full flask loads ensures consistent molten iron temperature, uniform mold filling and repeatable microstructure — while amortizing the furnace energy, heat-treatment setup and CNC machining calibration across the batch.

In most projects, yes. Higher quantities improve casting yield, distribute fixed foundry and heat-treatment setup overhead across more units, and reduce per-unit packaging costs.

No. Casting brand-mark tooling fees are charged once on initial setup and are waived for re-orders using the same artwork dimension. You only pay the $0.50 USD per vise laser engraving and handling fee.

No. Requesting project MOQ guidance simply allows our engineering team at Stavalk, Qingdao to review your technical brief and advise the most cost-effective production path. A Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is available before you share proprietary technical specifications or artwork.
