Stavalk offers three primary surface-coating paths for bench vises, each chosen to match the buyer''s target environment and price point. Epoxy-based spray paint delivers adequate corrosion protection at the lowest cost, suited to general workshop use. Powder coating provides a thicker, more impact-resistant film for heavy-duty or export applications where handling damage is a concern. Parkerizing (iron phosphate conversion coating) creates a chemically bonded surface ideal for industrial settings that demand a thin, oil-absorbing finish before topcoat or oil film. Every coating option begins with identical surface preparation: shot-blasting to a uniform profile, alkaline degreasing, and primer application where required. The result is a consistent finish that meets the buyer''s specification for adhesion, salt-spray resistance and appearance.

Which coating is best for outdoor or humid workshop environments?+
For outdoor or high-humidity locations, powder coating or Parkerizing followed by a paint topcoat offers the best corrosion resistance. Powder coating's thick cured film resists chipping and moisture ingress, while Parkerizing provides a conversion layer that bonds tightly to both the iron substrate and the topcoat.
What coating thickness targets does Stavalk apply?+
Spray-paint coatings are typically 60–80 µm dry film thickness. Powder coatings range from 80–120 µm depending on the buyer's specification. Parkerized-only finishes are under 15 µm. These targets are measured at QC with a dry-film-thickness gauge on each batch.
How does Stavalk verify scratch and impact resistance at QC?+
Coated samples are evaluated for adhesion by cross-cut tape test and for impact resistance by fall-weight test per the relevant standard. Any batch that fails adhesion, salt-spray or visual inspection is reworked before release. Results are recorded with the batch inspection report.
